Chriss Knight is an award-winning reporter, host and producer with over 15 years experience. Chriss and her family moved back to her hometown in Georgia after 11 years of living and working in New Orleans.

Most recently, Chriss served as Co-Host of NOLA Marketplace , a daytime show on the local ABC and CW that features New Orleans businesses from 2014-2020. Chriss also hosted Seasons 1 and 2 of the Telly Award winning,  “The Real Wild Animals of New Orleans”, a behind the scenes web series by Audubon Nature Institute.  In addition to her on-camera work, Chriss also manages social media accounts for various New Orleans businesses and is a sfx makeup artist.

Through here years of work in front of the camera, Chriss is a self taught makeup artist, with a passion for creating gory zombies and movie characters with her special fx makeup! Chriss is a guest instructor of special effects makeup for Hollywood Makeup Bootcamp . 

Chriss moved to New Orleans in 2010 after accepting a reporter position at WGNO. In New Orleans, Chriss was one of the first reporters to report live during the Deep Water Horizon oil rig explosion which led to the country’s most devastating oil spill in history. Chriss filed live reports for CNN and various Tribune stations around the country including stations in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. Her feature and breaking news coverage received honors from the Press Club of New Orleans.

Before New Orleans, Chriss was a reporter and fill-in anchor at KMTV in Omaha Nebraska from 2007-2009. While there, Chriss won a Nebraska Associated Press award for her breaking news coverage of a severe hail storm that ripped through the area during the city’s big July 4th celebration.

From 2005-2007 Chriss served as a reporter and anchor for KLKN in Lincoln, Nebraska.  Chriss’ “Call to Action” series raised $10,000 for phonecards for soldiers deployed overseas, raised money to install pedestrian countdown crosswalk signs at downtown intersections, and raised awareness on the need for volunteers for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. In 2006, the series won best reporting in its category in the state by the Nebraska Broadcaster’s Association.

Chriss was also a political reporter for “Lawmakers”, a live show that covers the Georgia General Assembly on GPTV for the  2003 and 2004 sessions.
Today, Chriss is highly involved in charity events in New Orleans, serving on committees and emcee-ing various fundraisers in the city.
Chriss graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from Georgia State University in Atlanta, where she completed internships at CNN, WSB-TV, GPTV, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. 
She grew up in a small town in Northeast Georgia and spent most of her time riding horses on her family’s farm. Chriss is married and has two adorable cats and a guinea pig. Chriss and her husband Lon are proud to call New Orleans home.
